Six Months Down, Forever To Go

These past six months have flown by so quickly, and I can’t believe I’m typing this out.

Many people don’t see it’s important to celebrate this anniversary, but I do. I didn’t think I’d get past month number two, in all honesty, so making it this far is a pleasant shock. All I thought would happen:  luck into a few views, get bored, and stop, since that’s what teenagers typically do with everything.

But, here I am, six months in and close to 10,000 views. It’s mind-blowing to think that so many people from all over the world have checked in and read my articles. When people reach out to me, that’s what makes it worth it. If I’ve inspired somebody, that’s worth more than any amount of money you could give me.

I’ve gotten to interview drivers and spotters, guest host on radio shows, and turn into the interviewee when my local newspaper contacted me. I never imagined things would move this quickly. What the next six months may bring slightly scares me, but it will definitely be an adventure.

I want to thank each and every one of you who read my blog and support me. I love each and every one of you. Your comments and encouragement help me through the tough times. If it weren’t for you all, I wouldn’t be here. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Up Top The Pit Box will be around for a while, don’t worry! I love this too much to just give up now. But, if for some reason I ended this tomorrow, I wouldn’t be bitter or upset. Because of this blog, I have experienced more than some may go through in a lifetime. I may never get paid the big bucks to write about NASCAR. I may never go on SportsCenter or ESPN to talk about the sport. I may never gain the fame like my idols Marty Smith and Jenna Fryer have.

That doesn’t matter. I’m not in love with the attention that comes with this. I don’t need that.

I’m in love with the writing. Always have been, always will be. Even if it’s my dream, and I may never achieve it, I’ll still smile.

Because everything happened, and it rocked.

Racing on,

Kristen

  1. Aww, very sweet. You will get there to your dreams/goals because I’ve told you this and I believe that you are the best in the generation. Your stories tell many, many things other than just a story a create a picture for people. You put them in the story, you imagine them being there with someone following them their entire life. You do things not many can with your writing and that is something I know you will continue to do. Keep it up, keep your dreams and goals in your sight and you will be there before you know it.
